Dr. Leighton James
Dr. James is the inventor and developer of the MECKOW Aquapur.
He gained degrees in Electronic Engineering and Mathematics before undertaking Ph.D.research studies in Nuclear Physics.
He proceeded as a University Lecturer and Research Scientist and is the author of several Scientific articles published in various International Journals.
After visiting India and seeing the urgent need for clean drinking water, he was motivated, primarily from humanitarian considerations, to develop the Aquapur system and he set himself three parameters:
- Ease of operation
- Longevity for the Unit
- No need for electricity for operation
All these three have been achieved in the Aquapur system.
The project from the beginning has been largely driven with a desire for humanitarian benefits to be brought to the millions throughout the World who are denied a basic necessity of life.
